This project focuses on a next-generation ten to fifteen percent bio-blend for diesel engines, developed for the MC2 Plus Grand Innovation Challenge, under Challenge Area Three, Innovative Production Pathways. The central objective is to develop an indigenous, scalable, and commercially viable bio-blend capable of replacing ten to fifteen percent of conventional diesel. The formulation is designed around three key priorities: hydrophobic stability, strong ignition performance, and reliable protection against injector and fuel-line blocking. The proposed approach uses butanol and isobutanol as the primary bio-blend components. Compared with ethanol, these alcohols offer important advantages for diesel blending. Their less-polar molecular structure supports better miscibility with diesel, while their lower tendency to absorb moisture can help reduce the risk of phase separation during storage.
