Meanwhile, land preparation is done by adding farmyard manure, puddling the soil, and constructing bunds. After two days, the germinated seeds are taken out of the bags, separated, labeled, and prepared for sowing. Seed beds are then prepared with convenient length and about two feet width to allow easy management. All 34 varieties are sown individually on the beds, each with proper labeling. After 24 days, the seedlings are ready for transplantation. Before transplanting, the main field is prepared by applying farmyard manure. Around 12 hours before transplanting, puddling and bund strengthening are completed. Each variety is then transplanted in the field with proper spacing. For crop protection and growth, natural inputs such as pongamia oil, Trichoderma, Pseudomonas, Beauveria, and PSB are sprayed at regular intervals. Additionally, organic formulations like Jeevamrutha and Panchagavya are applied to enhance growth. Within two months of transplantation, the paddy shows panicle emergence. Depending on the variety—short, medium, or long duration—the crop is ready for harvest between 90 to 160 days.
