Students, aaj hum “Historical Background of Law” par baat karenge. Sab se pehle yeh samajh lo ke law ek din mein create nahin hua. Law dheere dheere society ke experience, religion, customs, kings, courts aur states ke through develop hua. Is liye law ki history ko samajhna important hai, kyun ke aaj ka modern law purane systems ki base par khara hai. Sab se pehla stage tha ancient legal systems. Purani civilizations, jaise Mesopotamia mein, logon ne rules banaye taake society mein order rahe. Is period ka mashhoor example Code of Hammurabi hai. Is mein written rules thay aur punishments bhi clear thi. Yahan se ek basic idea mila ke law written form mein bhi ho sakta hai, sirf riwaj ki shakl mein nahin. Phir aata hai Ancient Egypt. Yahan law ka relation “Ma’at” se tha. Ma’at ka simple matlab hai justice, truth, balance aur order. Is se pata chalta hai ke law sirf punishment ka naam nahin, balke society mein balance aur insaf ka system bhi hai. Us ke baad Hebrew Law aata hai. Is ka base religious commandments par tha, specially Mosaic Law aur Ten Commandments. Is stage par law aur morality bohat qareeb nazar aate hain. Yahan se yeh concept strong hua ke insan ke conduct ko divine guidance ke mutabiq bhi regulate kiya ja sakta hai.
